It was such a busy day yesterday, we didn't get a chance to post a proper congratulations to Nick Ebert, for being named Kal Tire Ontario Hockey League Rookie of the Month for December!

Nick is the second straight member of the Spitfires to claim the award - Eric Locke won it in November.

Ebert had four goals and 10 assists for 14 points in nine games to lead all OHL defencemen and tie for the rookie-lead in December scoring.

He became the first rookie and defenceman to be named the OHL Player of the Week following three straight three-point games - including a first-star performance on December 9th, when he scored two goals and added an assist, in a 4-3 win over the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds.

Ebert, a 16-year-old from Livingston, New Jersey, is eligible for the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. He's currently tied for seventh in league scoring among defencemen and ranks 11th in overall rookie scoring with 27 points in 35 games.

Congrats, Nick!
