Spitfire alumni Adam Henrique led a seven-run, sixth inning rally with a two-run, inside-the-park home run, as the Spitfires roared back to defeat the Media All-Stars, 15-13 on Friday night at Riverside Baseball Park.
The Media team jumped out to leads of 5-0 and 8-3 in the opening three innings, capitalizing on some defensive miscues with timely hitting.
But a line drive home run by second-year winger Hunter Smith turned the tides, as the Spits put up five in the fifth inning and seven more in the sixth.
Trailing 15-10 heading into the ninth inning, the Media team cut the lead to 15-13, but failed to tie the game.
Ben Johnson won the Home Run Derby for the second straight year, hitting two massive bombs.
All proceeds from the event go to the Windsor Spitfires Foundation and Riverside Minor Baseball.
Thanks to everyone who came out to suppor this great event!
